Moist Toe Spaces...Uh Oh!
If the skin between or under your toes is moist constantly, it's not because you forgot to dry in there today. It's likely caused by a skin infection.
This isn't the kind of skin infection that causes redness, pain and swelling. It's more like Jock Itch. The space between the toes is usually dark, moist, warm, and sadly often neglected.
When a skin fungus, bacteria, or combination of both find this safe place to hide and breed, it causes the skin to get macerated. The skin starts to resemble "dish pan hands". It starts to look pale, there might be loose skin, or even a small cut.
At Sohl Foot & Ankle, we feel this should never be overlooked or ignored. Like most skin infections, if left untreated it can become a bigger problem, leading to more harmful infections like cellulitis.
If you are struggling to clear this skin infection, please call us for an evaluation. We can help you eradicate this nuisance before it becomes a problem.
